puppet master

is it right to expect from love

as if you’re not a person

but a beacon

can i remember that i am not in control of you

that your legs move of their own accord

(as does your heart)

you are your own entity

separate from me

indeed, we live in different bodies.

don’t make me your puppet master anymore.

i don’t want to be a puppet master anymore.

KIRSTY MACLELLAN’S poetry expands fragmentary thoughts into bite-sized art by using questions as a tool for projecting her ideas. She writes in an abstract and contemporary style that lacks structure (but of course, that is the point!). Her work aims to uncover the connections between the human condition and the divine.
